SHIPPING INFORMATION:
(For shipping Puppies by Air)
The buyer will be responsible for all shipping costs which includes: health papers, shipping crate, transportation and
airline fees.
(The Price of the puppy, and ALL shipping costs must be Paid in Full, BEFORE a puppy will be shipped.)
Health papers - $35.00 to $75.00 (Depending which vet. I can get into.)
Shipping crate - $30.00 - $60.00 maybe more depending on age and size of the puppy. (6 month Giant Schnauzer pup crate
is $100 to $125.)
Transportation to St. Louis, MO Airport - $75.00 (Less if more than one pup goes at the same time.) This is the fee "I"
charge if "I" take the pup to the airport. Lately, I've been hiring a "shipper" to take the pups to the
airport. Fees vary for this. (Also, if the pup ships out of a different airport, then the fees will be different.)
Airline fees - $150 - $350 depending on the airline. (6 Month Giant Schnauzer pup in Extra Large crate can run over $400
just for the airline fee!!)
Airline "insurance" - $1.00 to $5.00 per "$100.00 of insurance needed". (I "recommend"
you purchase insurance).
In order to ship a puppy the temperature at departure, arrival, and anywhere in between, that the pup may be "on
the ground", cannot exceed 80ºF or be below 40ºF.
(The exception to the temperature requirements above is "certain" airlines that offer "special handling"
of live animals at a "higher" price. This is an option if you want to pay for it.)
GROUND TRANSPORTATION:
There are also some "ground transportation" companies. I don't know much about them, as I haven't used any of
them as of yet. But I am "open" to using one, if the buyer requests it.
PICK UP YOUR PUPPY HERE:
I have had several people prefer to Come HERE and PICK UP their puppy. That is perfectly fine with me, and easier on the
pup, too. (I've had people drive here from several states away to pick them up.)
I've been "told" it is sometimes cheaper for the buyer to fly here, and then pick up the pup and fly it back
with them, as opposed to just flying the pup alone. I'm not sure about that, but it is another option for you to think about.
No matter WHAT method you choose to get the puppy to you, you must remember that once the puppy is "out of my hands"
(and in the care of the "carrier" [airline, etc.]) then I am no longer financially responsible for it. So I strongly
suggest that you purchase the available insurance offered by the carrier, "Just in Case".
I Normally only ship puppies on WEEKENDS. However, when I hire a "shipper" she normally ships on either Thursdays
or Fridays.
Once you have put down a deposit on your choice of pup(s) then I will contact the airlines or the shipper and get a quote
for you.
Prices seem to change almost daily, with the price of gas going up so much, etc.
